RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Rural development generally refers to the process of improving the quality of life and economic welfare of people living in relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas. In India, out of a total population of 121 crores, 83.3 crores live in rural areas (Census of India, 2011). Thus, nearly 70 per cent of India’s population lives in rural areas. These rural populations can be characterized by mass poverty, low levels of literacy and income, high level of unemployment, and poor nutrition and health status. In order to tackle these specific problems, a number of rural development programmers are being implemented to create opportunities for improvement of the quality of life of these rural people. SAVE & CARE CHARITABLE TRUST is committed to contributing positively towards the development of rural areas through integrated village development program and bringing innovation by employing talented youth to tackle the most challenging problems.
EDUCATION
Education is observed to be one of the most important tools to bring about a socio-economic transformation within society. It plays a key role in bringing a developmental progression of a family within the ecosystem. There is a significant difference between access to education and access to quality education. Children have a right to state-funded quality education, a standard of instruction, class engagement, good teachers and a better administration. However, not all sections of the society have access to the same and therefore SAVE & CARE CHARITABLE TRUST has initiated various educational projects to bring about a change in the lifestyle of the lower sections of the society by providing them access to quality education.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT
With an objective to promote inclusive growth of the nation, it is vital to integrate persons with disabilities into society. It is therefore imperative to amplify their voices and enable them to empower themselves by actively integrating them into society and fostering support for them. With this objective in mind, SAVE & CARE CHARITABLE TRUST has worked across several projects in order to empower this section of society.
HEALTH
The challenges faced in healthcare in India are many and SAVE & CARE CHARITABLE TRUST will be focusing on providing access to affordable healthcare for the poor; creating awareness on health issues & making available basic medical facilities in the remote villages of India
SUSTAINABILITY & ENVIRONMENT
Urbanization poses a threat to the ecosystem and apart from all the hazards on the environment, the most preventable one is solid waste management. Billions of people worldwide still lack access to a sustainable solid waste management system. Open burning of solid waste poses a severe threat to the air quality along with contamination of soil and groundwater. Through our projects, we aim to make the waste management system climate-resilient and provide skills and capacity-building to unemployed youth and deliver environmental awareness campaigns.
ROAD SAFETY
SAVE & CARE CHARITABLE TRUST will promote Road Safety among people through various activities for creating awareness on road safety, training of drivers and working with traffic department in regulating traffic in major cities of India.
DISASTER & PANDEMIC
Natural catastrophes, pandemics, and social disruption are an unfortunate fact of life, especially in a climatically, geologically, and ethnically diverse country like India. The disadvantaged sections of society are the most affected during these calamities as their livelihoods’ already fragile nature gets disrupted further.
Over the years, we have engaged in several short-term relief aids and long-term rehabilitation projects with communities impacted by disasters & Pandemic. In the past, we have helped rebuild the lives of people affected by Covid 1st wave, Covid 2nd wave, Chennai Flood & Cyclone, etc.
